I've made the decision to do a weekly round up of
my posts from
Dyke Squad. I'm a little late for this one, but I'll try to keep it regular from now on. And, again, these are just my posts.
Dyke Squad has more people than me, obviously.
Welcome to the Dyke SquadA welcome to the blog and introduction to the subject matter, mission statement, and contributors.
The UCC decides to accept gay marriageDiscussion on the UCC's decison to accept gay marriage. Discussion on the revolutionary church, which has always been in the forefront of accepting equality.
Santorum's It Takes A FamilyDiscussion on Senator Santorum's ass-backwards book
It Takes A Family. The book asserts that women are happier in the home and that diversity is a load of hogwash. Santorum, clearly, is a load of hogwash.
Bush falls off bike again Well, the President fell off his bike again. A good thing: his people didn't lie and say it was raining when it wasn't as an excuse for his clumsiness. A bad thing: he hurt a police officer in this fall.
"London rocked by terror attacks..."Self-expanitory.
Great AMERICAblog post on London... A link to a great post. When questioned about "Islamic terrorists," DAC Brian Paddick - an senior out police officer in the UK police foce - took a moment to explain that the terrorists pervert that which Islam stands for, as they murdered innocents. A really great blog link.
Fox's Kilmeade: Attacks work toward our advantage?Kilmeade on Fox made a really dumb statement about the attacks working toward our advantage. While I understand that he was
trying to say that the unity that comes from disasters can be good, he worded this terribly and came off sounding like an insensitive clod.
Children who hate fags Linked from the wonderful </a></b></a>
cabtastic - God Hates Fags.com has put up pictures of children wearing God Hates Fags shirt. A brief discussion on how terrifying it is to see children in these clothes.
Al-Qaida's changes I think this quote says it all: "Al-Qaida is now an ideology. It's moved beyond being a structural organization." A discussion on how Al-Qaida has changed since the 2001.
Klein, Rehnquist, and Santorum's "opinion" Klein's book, Rehnquist's failing health, and a discussion on Santorum's "opinion" that women are happier at home. Yes, he has a right to his own opinion, but does that make his opinion "okay." The man is preaching backwards rhetoric that oppresses women and gays, but we let him off the hook because it's "just his opinion?" I feel this is a dangerous defense.
"Fire, hate sear church" A UCC church was vandalized, yet the people in the church remain strong in their faith of tolerance and acceptance.
"Spain's First Gay Wedding" Link from </a></b></a>
dokool. An article on the first gay marriage in Spain.
Ongoing criminal investigation, huh? A link to Scott McClellan being eaten alive by the press. It's amazing. The regular news people - CBS, NBC, etc - are demanding that McClellan tell the truth about Rove.
"What, me worry?" Hillary made a reference to Bush's response toward tough issues being Alfred E. Neuman-esque. She was, of course, attacked for taking partisan jabs. I found this ridiculous, especially coming from the people who supported Rove's liberals-don't-get-911 statement.
Santorum refuses to back down from remarks on Boston Santorum won't back down from his statement that, ""It is no surprise that Boston, a seat of academic, political, and cultural liberalism in America, lies at the center of the storm" of the clergy sexual abuse scandal." Boston fires back.
